Practice Times
Practice Times this week will be as follows:
Monday – 7:30 for distance; 9-11 for sprints, hurdles, jumps, and pole vault; 2:45 for throws. Mid distance will practice with sprints or according to Coach Walker’s directions.
Wednesday – practice at 2:00.
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at regular time.

Chipotle Fundraiser – Tuesday, Feb 20th
Take a night off from cooking and join us at the Chipotle at 2020 E Elliott Rd in Tempe (just west of the 101). We receive 50% of sales from 5-9pm, so we need a huge turnout. No flyer is necessary, just tell them you are with Corona Track. See you there!

Car Wash – Saturday, February 24th
The car wash will be held from 8am to 1pm. Athletes were given eight $5 tickets to sell. The athletes will work in shifts and will be able to go to Sole Sports for a special shoe fitting event. See info below.
Please bring any old towels you have and a donation of 2 cases of water per athlete to use throughout the season. Thank you!
Note…*WE WILL NOT BE HAVING THE GOODWILL PICKUP THAT DAY* as the truck was not available. We will be rescheduling for March, so please hang on to your donations.

Sole Sports Special Event – Saturday, February 24th
Sole Sports is a specialty running store at Rural/Warner. They are a sponsor of our team and are offering a special discount event for Corona Track & Field on Saturday, February 24th from 7:30 – 10am. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Volunteers and Donations Needed!!
We have 2 meets coming up that we need many volunteers for – the Corona/Hamilton Dual Meet on February 28th and the Aztec Invite on March 3rd. The Aztec Invite is an all-day event where we will be hosting 17 teams from the area. Please take a look at the sign-up links and help where you can. You will still be able to see your child compete. Any help is appreciated, even if it is a partial shift.

We are also asking for donations of snack items for the Aztec Invite. We feed all the coaches, officials, volunteers and our athletes throughout the day. Leftover items will be used throughout the season. Please see the sign-up link for more information. Please donate 2 cases of water per athlete and bring them to the carwash on Saturday. Thank you!

FanAngel Fundraiser
Our FanAngel Fundraiser will be starting soon. This is an online email fundraiser and we are asking that athletes supply 20 email addresses to send sponsor requests. These can be family, friends or businesses. Please start to compile those addresses so they are ready in the next week.

Practice for President's Day, Monday Feb 19th

Practice for Monday February 19th Presidents Day will be as follows. Sprint’s and jumps have an optional practice from 9 to 11. Pole vault will have practice from 9 to 11. The distance Runners will practice from 7:30 to 9:30. The throwers will practice from 2:45 to 5 p.m. middle-distance will practice with Sprint’s or on their own according to Coach Walker. Hurdelers will also practice from 9-11.

All athletes, please remember out annual Susan Mortensen Cancer Run is tomorrow morning at 7:30. This will be our Saturday practice.

We ask you bring a $5 donation for the cause. Parents and family are more than welcome to join us and run as well. The actual run will begin at 8:00.

Weekly News, February 8th

Welcome to the 2018 Corona Track & Field Season! Please take a couple of minutes to read about our upcoming events.

Parent Meeting, Tuesday, February 13th
There will be a Spring Sports Meeting in the CdS auditorium at 6pm on Tuesday. The track parent meeting will follow immediately after. We strongly encourage all parents to attend as there is much that has changed this year.

Practice Times
Practice will be held daily from 2:40 to 5:30pm. Wednesday practice times may vary due to the coaches’ availability. We will attempt to keep the calendar updated, however, the athletes should follow what the coaches tell them at practice. There is a practice this Saturday from 9 to 11am. Javelin will practice at 11am.

Parent Shout Outs
Our 2018 Team Program has a section for “Shout Outs” so that you or your family can send a personalized message to your athlete. The cost is $25 and helps support our team. The form is attached to this announcement on the website and can also be found under “DOCUMENTS”. The form and payment must be received by Friday, February 16th.

SENIORS – Information Needed!!!
Our Team Program has a section for our seniors, complete with photo and personal information. There is a Senior Questionnaire under the “DOCUMENTS” section of the website. Please download, fill out and return to the email address listed on the form ASAP. This is for seniors only. We need this information by Friday the 16th at the absolute latest.

Carwash/Goodwill Donation Drive
The carwash fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, February 24th in the CdS Senior Parking Lot. We will also be doing a Goodwill Donation Drive at that time. We get paid by the pound for your donations, so please take some time in the next couple of weeks to clean out those closets and garages. More details will be coming soon.

Chipotle Fundraiser, Tuesday, February 20th
We have a Chipotle night scheduled for Tuesday the 20th from 5-9 at the Elliott location (just West of the 101). We receive 50% of the sales, so we need a great turnout for this event. Mark your calendars and pass the word along to friends and family!

Track & Field Sponsors Needed!

We are currently looking for businesses to sponsor our CdS Track & Field Team. We have many different levels of sponsorship available, from purchasing small ads in our team program to large banners that will hang at the track all season. All sponsors will have their logo displayed on our team website and will be mentioned on our Facebook page and in our team newsletter.

If you own a business, or know someone who owns a business, please take a look at the attached Sponsorship Letter and pass along to other businesses. It is a great advertising opportunity and offers much needed support for our team. Sponsors allow us to provide t-shirts, snacks, equipment and other necessary items for the season. We can’t do it without them!

The deadline to sponsor is Friday, February 16th. Thank you for your help and support!
