AZTEC INVITE
We are still need of many adult volunteers for the Aztec Invitational on Saturday. It will be a beautiful day to spend out at the track, so please sign up to help. If you can’t work a full shift, sign up and put the time you can work in the comment section. We want to make a good impression on the other schools by having a well run meet, but we can’t do that without your help. You do not need any special training for these jobs, and the timing positions are as backup to the main electronic timing system. Thank you for supporting the team!

Aztec Invitational Volunteer Sign-Up

My apologies, regarding the meet attendance policy, I realize some athletes have made arrangements with the coaches due to Choir and Dance, as far as possibly missing parts of our up coming meets. Thank you!

Hello Athletes and Parents. The coaching staff wanted to send out a quick reminder. The expectation for the dual meet tomorrow (and for every dual meet and invitational) is for ALL athletes to stay for the entire meet to support their fellow teammates. Please plan accordingly. We hope to see families at Corona tomorrow to cheer on their relatives and all the CdS Aztecs!

Hamilton Dual Meet on Wednesday
Most, if not all, of the athletes will be competing in our first home meet of the season. Uniforms will be handed out on Monday, and athletes should find out what events they are doing. The meet will start at 3:45. The order of events is posted on the website under “INFO”. Sign up to volunteer at the link below.

Aztec Invitational on Saturday
This meet is for Varsity athletes; however, attendance is MANDATORY FOR ALL ATHLETES. Those who are not competing will be volunteering at this all-day event. We will provide food and water for all of our volunteers and athletes throughout the day. The order and time schedule of events can be found on Athletic.net, however, this is just an approximation and events may start earlier than listed.
WE ARE STILL IN NEED OF ADULT VOLUNTEERS!! There are some jobs that must be done by an adult (such as timing and measuring), so please sign up to help at the link below. We will make sure you are able to see your child compete. Timers are for backup to the electronic system – you are not the main source of times (hopefully that makes it less scary!).

We can still use some food/snack donations for the Invite. (Extras as used throughout the season.) Food and cases of water can be dropped off at the track on Friday between 3-5, or on Saturday morning at 7:30. If you have heavy items, call or text Kristi at 480-734-6686, and we will come pick them up from the parking lot.

Chipotle Fundraiser/Car Wash
Thank you for all of you who attended our Chipotle fundraiser and/or Car Wash on Saturday. We were able to raise about $5000! We appreciate the support!

FanAngel Fundraiser
This email fundraiser has started and will run through April, 2nd. The athletes should have set up their FanAngel account and input 20 email addresses. Full directions are on the website under “FUNDRAISING”.

No-Cost Fundraisers
Please take a moment to sign up for at least one of our no-cost fundraisers. This includes Amazon Smile, Fry’s VIP, Benefit Mobile or Tax Credit Donation. If you are an Amazon shopper, you could be earning 2.5% for Corona Track on every purchase using Amazon Smile and Benefit Mobile. These programs cost you nothing but the time to set it up. Practice Times
Practice Times this week will be as follows:
Monday – 7:30 for distance; 9-11 for sprints, hurdles, jumps, and pole vault; 2:45 for throws. Mid distance will practice with sprints or according to Coach Walker’s directions.
Wednesday – practice at 2:00.
Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at regular time.

Chipotle Fundraiser – Tuesday, Feb 20th
Take a night off from cooking and join us at the Chipotle at 2020 E Elliott Rd in Tempe (just west of the 101). We receive 50% of sales from 5-9pm, so we need a huge turnout. No flyer is necessary, just tell them you are with Corona Track. See you there!

Car Wash – Saturday, February 24th
The car wash will be held from 8am to 1pm. Athletes were given eight $5 tickets to sell. The athletes will work in shifts and will be able to go to Sole Sports for a special shoe fitting event. See info below.
Please bring any old towels you have and a donation of 2 cases of water per athlete to use throughout the season. Thank you!
Note…*WE WILL NOT BE HAVING THE GOODWILL PICKUP THAT DAY* as the truck was not available. We will be rescheduling for March, so please hang on to your donations.

Sole Sports Special Event – Saturday, February 24th
Sole Sports is a specialty running store at Rural/Warner. They are a sponsor of our team and are offering a special discount event for Corona Track & Field on Saturday, February 24th from 7:30 – 10am. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Volunteers and Donations Needed!!
We have 2 meets coming up that we need many volunteers for – the Corona/Hamilton Dual Meet on February 28th and the Aztec Invite on March 3rd. The Aztec Invite is an all-day event where we will be hosting 17 teams from the area. Please take a look at the sign-up links and help where you can. You will still be able to see your child compete. Any help is appreciated, even if it is a partial shift.

Our FanAngel Fundraiser will be starting soon. This is an online email fundraiser and we are asking that athletes supply 20 email addresses to send sponsor requests. These can be family, friends or businesses. Please start to compile those addresses so they are ready in the next week.
