Weekly Track News - March 19th

Posted by Corona del Sol Track and Field at Mar 19, 2018 10:23AM PDT

FanAngel Update
We have one week remaining for our FanAngel email fundraiser. We have only raised $3,770 of our $10,000 goal which pays for t-shirts, ice baths, banquet costs, state meet costs, etc. Participation in this fundraiser was mandatory, however, half of the athletes have not signed up on the website, and many who signed up have not sent out emails. We are asking those athletes who have not sent out emails to do so immediately or you can make a direct donation to AzTrack Booster Club or do a Tax Credit Donation. Every little donation helps. Had every athlete raised $65, we would be at our goal already. Please do your part to help support the team!

Tax Credit Donation
Consider making a tax credit donation to Corona Track and Field. The tax credit can be applied to either your 2017 or 2018 taxes. You donate the money and it comes right back to you as a credit in your tax return. Go to Tax Credit Donation for more information.

Goodwill Donation Drive on Saturday!
Finish up that spring cleaning and donate your gently used items to Goodwill. (See attached list of acceptable items.) Corona Track earns money based on the weight of our donation. You may drop off your donations in the Corona Senior Lot between 9am and 1pm on Saturday. If you have items to donate but will not be able to drop off at that time, please let us know by emailing aztrackboosters@gmail.com so we can make arrangements with you.

We could also use volunteers to help with collection that morning. If you can work a one-hour shift between 9 and 1, please email us at aztrackboosters@gmail.com. Thank you!

MidFirst Bank Coin Drive
MIdFirst Bank will be bringing their fundraising coin van to our home meet on Wednesday. Please bring some change to donate and MidFirst Bank will match a portion of the total collected and donate it back to Corona Track & Field! The coin van will be arriving at 5pm, however, we will be collecting change at the concession stand starting at 3:30.

Banquet Planning Meeting
We are looking for volunteers to help plan the end of year banquet. We will be meeting on Tuesday, March 27th at 4:00pm at the track. Come out and join us!

FanAngel Update
We are in the 3rd week of our FanAngel fundraiser. So far we have only raised $2890 of our $10,000 goal. We have had poor participation in this fundraiser, with only 50% of the kids even signing up. Only 12 of 160+ athletes have met their $100 goal, and over 100 athletes have raised no money. Without a substantial increase in this amount, we will have to adjust our spending for the rest of the season. This will impact the banquet, senior gifts, state qualifier dinner and t-shirts, meet snacks, and ice for recovery ice baths just to name a few items. If you or your athlete have not participated in this fundraiser as of yet, we ask that you do so immediately. Directions can be found on the website under “Fundraising”.

No Cost Fundraising
If you don’t like having to raise funds by traditional fundraising, then help us out by participating in our no-cost fundraising. We can earn money every time you shop at Fry’s or on Amazon. Benefit Mobile offers a way to earn hundreds of dollars by doing your regular shopping with mobile gift cards. It’s super easy and they download in seconds to your phone. You can also give a tax credit donation in your child’s name. It can be applied to either your 2017 or 2018 taxes. For more information go to the “Fundraising” tab on the website.

Goodwill Donation Drive – Saturday, March 24th
We will be collecting your gently used items to donate to Goodwill. Corona Track & Field will receive money back based on the weight of the donations. Please clean our those closets and garages and donate your items. More information will be coming next week as to the drop off time.

Enjoy your spring break!

THANK YOU AZTEC INVITE VOLUNTEERS AND SPONSORS!!!
The Invite was a big success and we would like to thank all of you who volunteered at the meet. We could not do it without your help. Mr. Nenaber, Assistant Principal of Athletics, wanted to extend his gratitude as well for all the hard work put in by the volunteers, athletes and coaches. We appreciate you!

We would also like to thank those businesses who generously donated food and beverages to our event. A special thanks goes to Straight to the Plate Catering for catering lunch for the coaches and athletes. It was delicious and much appreciated! The following businesses also donated food, beverages or cases of water. Please give them your business as a way of saying thanks.

FanAngel Fundraiser
We have raised $2,585 of our $10,000 goal so far. Only 24 of 160 athletes have sent out emails, which is only 15% participation. While we would love not to have to fundraise, it is not an option. The district pays for only a bare minimum of meets. All other meets, team shirts, banquet costs and other miscellaneous expenses are paid for through fundraising. We would like to see every athlete participate in the fundraising, even if they raise a minimal amount. This fundraiser runs through April 2nd. More information is available on our website under “Fundraising”.

TEAM MERCHANDISE

Stop in for lunch or dinner at their Chandler location (Ray/McClintock in the Albertson’s center). We will receive 20% of sales we bring in. You must bring in the attached flyer to get credit for Corona Track. See you there!

Brophy Prep AMDG Invitational Meet on Friday
Our next meet is on Friday at the Brophy Sports Complex. The meet starts at 2:00pm and is for varsity athletes. Non-varsity athletes should still have practice. More details will be coming later in the week.
