Preseason Camps

Posted by Corona del Sol Track and Field on Nov 06 2023 at 10:07AM PST

Hey everyone,

Each season we receive lots of questions about our camps so we want to address the differences and their importance.

The first camp we host is a strength and conditioning camp starting in November. The purpose of this camp is to serve as a preparatory training period for athletes who have been inactive or need some active recovery training between fall sports and the start of the preseason camp beginning in January. The fee for this camp is $30 and is 5 weeks long 2 times per week.

The second camp we have is our preseason camp. This is an expectation for all athletes who are not involved in a winter sport. The purpose of this camp is to serve as the preparatory training phase for the upcoming season starting in February. Athletes will begin training for their event as well as ensuring the athletes are also developing a strong athletic skill set that will support their continued development. The cost for this camp is $50 and is 5 weeks long 3 times per week.

Both camps have separate costs and must paid separately. We occasionally receive complaints about having to pay twice or the amount. We want to highlight that most school sports and clubs have camps that cost a lot more than $80. Our camps average out to $8 per week and the fees go to paying coaches, renting the facilities, and providing insurance protection for the athletes. Any leftover fees go directly back to the track program.
